Although the educational activities of the new academic year were supposed to start from September 10, it is going to start from Monday, September 21. The new academic year is set to begin in a mixed way, with New York City’s 1.1 million students not stuck in a conventional education system considering their future and their health security.
After reviewing coronavirus activity across the United States, including New York, and following the guidelines of the City, State, and Federal Departments of Health, they have made overall preparations to begin educational activities on September 21 in this mixed manner.

In this mixed-method, the views of four lakh students and their parents were surveyed before planning the educational activities. And in this mixed approach, their concerns, perceptions of health risks, and advice have been emphasized in planning educational activities.

Here students will receive education 5 days a week as usual. But the main difference here is that the students will be taught using a mixed teaching method.
It is a method where students can take part in the 5 days of the week which maybe 2 days or 3 days. Again, any student and their parents can study at home the days of the week 5 days a week.
The Department of Education in New York City is working hard to provide students with access to technical assistance in order to make this mixed learning process a success. The demand for this technology mainly includes uninterrupted internet connection and computer usage.
And these 3 iPads are giving iPads to the students who do not have a computer. They are also working to increase teachers’ online teaching skills. It is also working to create a curriculum that will be useful and effective to use in this mixed-method by changing the conventional curriculum.
On September 6, all the teachers attended the school. On September 16, 17, and 18 all students will join the instructional orientation.
There will be information about their respective classes and related departments and individuals, students will be informed about health and safety measures, whether they have the necessary technology connection devices, and their teachers and guidance staff will check their health to ensure the well-being of students.
