Bangladesh Gas Field Company Overview
Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFCL) is the largest state-owned natural gas producer in Bangladesh. The company, which is a large natural gas producer, supplies gas to the gas transmission system through pipelines while maintaining the quality of the gas. BGFCL produces about 31% of the total natural gas production in the country.
By processing the condensate produced as a by-product with gas, it produces motor petrol (MS) and diesel (HSD) to meet a significant part of the country’s energy demand. BGFCL contributes a significant amount to the national treasury every year.
At present BGFCL has 06 (six) gas fields namely Titas, Habiganj, Bakhrabad, Narsingdi, Meghna, and Kamata. Out of these 06 (six) gas fields, 05 (five) i.e. Titas, Habiganj, Bakhrabad, Narsingdi, and Meghna gas fields are in production at present. Gas production from the Kamata field has been stopped due to excess water production.
In addition, the Feni gas field, which was once operated by BGFCL, has been handed over to Niko Resources (Bangladesh) Limited and Bapex under the direction of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. In the wake of the recent closure of the Sangu gas field operated by the international oil company Santos, Petrobangla has decided to bring the Silimpur plant in Chittagong under BGFCL.

- All the rules and quota process will be declared by Government policy.
- Application and payment started on 17 August 2020.
- The last date of application is 12 October 2020.
- Candidates who have got their User ID after submitting their application will be able to complete his payment.
